FIRST
ADVOCACY RIGHTS HUB LAUNCHED IN LIVERPOOL
The
country’s first Advocacy Rights Hub was launched at a packed Quaker
Meeting House in Liverpool on 25th
January. Warren Bradley, leader of Liverpool City Council,
performed the opening ceremony. The development was welcomed by speakers
from the Primary Care Trust, City Council, the Equality and Human Rights
Commission and from the Coalition. Liverpool Citizen Advocacy (LCA) is managing the Hub, which
is based on the model that is detailed in Citizens and
Advocacy. The Coalition has been actively involved in the development of
advocacy in Liverpool over the past few years, and
is supporting this exciting new development. LCA is working collaboratively
with other advocacy and related organisations and groups in the city to
ensure that the Advocacy Rights Hub is broadly based and robustly
independent of the delivery of other services. You can find out more at www.advocacyrightshub.co.uk
